Another one bites the dust. . . .

***The following post is not for the faint of heart***
I guess this is how our summer is going to be. I got a phone call tonight just as I was getting home to make dinner that Emily had hit her head in the pool at her friend's house. I ran over there to find a table full of blood-soaked paper towels and a frightened group of girls, including Emily. She was a tough kid, though. We got the bleeding to stop and thanks to our medical supplier, Auntie Jennie, we were able to save ourselves a trip to the ER. We got it cleaned up and I used dermabond (superglue for the skin) to seal it up. Good as new. . . minus a little bit of hair we had to cut off-- I think that was the most traumatic part for Emily.
Do I dare ask what else this summer is going to bring?

(Yes, we take pictures. The kids love looking back and reminiscing their battle wounds)

That looks horrible and painful! Oh my goodness. You guys need to be more careful. You are hurting me out here in cyberspace. Ouch. I am so glad it wasn't worse. But that still looks pretty bad. Hope you are doing better soon. Love aunt Lynn

OUCH!!!!! I'm so sorry, Emily! How amazing that Jennie could just take of it instead of the horrible ordeal that we all refer to as "the emergency room." Ick.

Battle wounds is right! There are probably volumes of them in your home, Heidi!!! Good thing you have a strong stomach! One of the many roles of "mother"...being able to fix what's been broken, even if it calls for super glue on the head!!!

Heidi! I can't believe how grown up all your kids are. What a beautiful family. We were (my mom and I) just thinking about you and your family the other day because we foundout that one of my mom's past day care kids, Katie, is one of Emily's friends. We thought that was funny. You guys look like your doing great, aside from summer injuries. It's wonderful to hear from you and see how you guys are doing. I look forward to more Wilson family updates!
