We were up late again last night due to a broken A/C unit in our room at the hotel. We waited for a couple hours to try and get someone to come look at it, but they finally ended up moving us to another room. So, at 10:30pm we packed up EVERYTHING and moved to a smaller room. The kids were very disappointed because we were staying in a jacuzzi suite. We had a full size jacuzzi in our room and never even got a chance to use it. We didn't have much luck at this hotel. The night we got in, the toilet was clogged and flooded the bathroom. Then they didn't have any clean towels (we had to use the ones we had to clean up the bathroom floor) and we had to park down the street because they were paving the parking lot. It's good that we were gone most of the day!
So, today we drove up to Brigham City to visit my Grandpa Stander. We got Arby's and took it to the park. It was so nice because the kids were able to run and play and us adults got to visit for several hours. The weather was beautiful and there was lots of shade trees. It was good for the kids to just have some free time to run and play. Emily was happy to feed the seagulls that came by the dozens as soon as the food came out.
I was so happy that I was able to see my great-Aunt Nan while we were there. She was working, so we just visited for a few minutes in the parking lot, but it was SO good to see her. I realized we hadn't seen her since Grandma's funeral 10 years ago. She hasn't changed a bit and is still as sweet as ever. She is very dear to me! (No, I didn't get a picture--does that surprise you?)
We left Brigham in the late afternoon and drove back to SLC and out to Kristin's house (Steve's sister) in Erda-west of SLC. She made us some delicious homemade pizza for dinner. The kids jumped on the trampoline, swam, and played all night. Kristin was helping her sister-in-law with a sewing project so we just kept them company until my girls saw Aunt Kristin's wall of fabric. She has a sewing room complete with numerous sewing machines, serger, and even has a full size quilting machine. So, before you know it she had the girls choose some fabric and we stayed up until midnight sewing pajama pants. It was a blast! Thanks, Auntie Kristin!
